Our owner Matthew Pellerin fell in love with the building and design process at the early age of 9 years old after skipping summer camp to stay home and “help” his parents’ general contractor with the framing and construction of their family home. That summer laid the ground work for the passion that Matthew exudes today for all aspects of building and design. Born and raised in the historic sugarcane town of Franklin, Louisiana; Matthew decided on the name Cane Construction to pay homage to the numerous historic sugarcane plantations that are spread across his beautiful hometown.

Matthew and his husband Dr. Trey Perrin transplanted from Youngsville, LA to the Northshore of New Orleans in the summer of 2022 and started laying the foundation for Cane Construction and Development shortly thereafter.

We take great pride in being a full scale design-build company, utilizing the best trade partners in their respected fields throughout the entirety of the design-build process in each of our projects. We believe in only using the highest quality building products and premium finishings in any project that we take on. Premium lumber, windows, doors, cabinetry, stone, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and tech is our thing.
